The features of the world coal market and factors influencing its development have been studied; shows the mineral resource base of the coal industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its state and development prospects; disclosed the essence of modern technologies for deep processing of coal, including: obtaining from coal liquid and gaseous fuels, other products of high value added, underground gasification of coal, as well as the possibility of their application in Kazakhstan.
